Ingredients: Serving 4 persons
- 6 cups of water
- 1 cup of rice
- 1 ½ cup of sugar
- 1 teaspoon of saffron
- 1 cup of rosewater
- 1 teaspoon of ground cardamom (optional)
- 2 teaspoon of oil
- ½ cup of slivered almonds, pistachios, and cinnamon for decoration
In larger pot over medium/high heat pour the water, the rice, and the sugar. Stir it well. Cook until the rice becomes very soft and tender; add the saffron, again stir well. Add the rosewater and cardamom mixture. Stir continuously. Add a bit of almonds and keep the rest for the decoration step.Stir one more time and cover the pot with its lid and let it sit on low heat for 20 minutes.
Directions – Decoration:
Using a large spoon or ladle, place the pudding in a bowl. Decorate it with cinnamon, slivered pistachios and almonds.
